St. Simons Island GA Photography by Tamara Gibson Photography

Tamara Gibson takes a natural approach to creating heirloom imagery for individuals and families. I love to photograph you in real, meaningful settings that convey the essence of who you are and what you love. I work hard to make sure the entire process is stress-free for our clients from start to finish, with the end result being beautifully crafted photo prints and products to be treasured for many years to come. I’ve been taking professional portraits since 2009 for a wide variety of clients. Many of the people I’ve photograph become our friends for years to come. I completely and absolutely love what I do! If this is your family's first time working with a professional photographer, it can be difficult to know what to expect. What should I bring? Will there be enough time to get the perfect picture? Will my child feel uncomfortable in front of the camera? I completely understand these feelings of concern; you are not alone! I am here to work for and with you to make your session as stress-free as possible. Remember, this is supposed to be fun! My method of working is simple: I tailor my photography to you and your family. Each session is a unique experience, built from the ground up just for you. In our initial consultation, we'll discuss things like the family schedule, favorite locations, and attention spans to make your photo day a smashing success. This is your day to relax and enjoy your family; I'll do the rest! Planning in advance is the key to success! If your family or child has a daily routine, it's best to schedule the photo session in a way that works with, not against, this routine. If your child has a certain naptime, we'll plan the shoot to be either before or after she/he wakes up to prevent tantrums and fatigue. If your baby generally sleeps during the afternoon, a morning session may be best. I am here to make your session a success, and will work with you individually to find a time and place that fits the family!

Below is some general information about St. Simons Island:

The largest barrier island in the Golden Isles, St. Simons Island lies across the immortalized Marshes of Glynn, made famous by poet Sidney Lanier. Moss-draped oaks line the winding island streets, creating a picture-perfect image worthy of a Faulkner tale. The island’s villages offer a charming and unique selection of shops, plus a variety of restaurants ranging from fine dining to casual outdoor fare.  Visitors and residents alike enjoy cooling down and engaging in a little outdoor recreation at Neptune Park and its Fun Zone, which includes a public pool, miniature golf and a fishing pier. St. Simons Island is dotted with exceptional historic sites and attractions, from the St. Simons Lighthouse Museum—a working lighthouse built in 1872—to the Bloody Marsh Battle Site, where, in July 1742, British and Scottish soldiers protecting colonial Georgia defeated a larger Spanish force in a battle that helped end Spanish incursions outside Florida. Fort Frederica National Monument, which preserves archaeological remnants of the local British colony and its defense against Spain, and historic Christ Church, Frederica—one of the oldest churches in Georgia, with worship held continuously since 1736—are located on the island’s north end. Toward the southern tip, the Maritime Center, in the restored U.S. Coast Guard Station, provides fascinating glimpses of the area’s natural evolution, while highlighting some of its maritime and military history. Year round warm weather in the Golden Isles allows visitors to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as kayaking, fishing, biking, golfing, or relaxing on East Beach. Visitors can tour the island’s historic sites on a variety of transportation options. Grab a Golden Isles Visitors Guide and tour on your own by car or rent a bike and cruise the island’s extensive bike paths. If you want to sit back and enjoy a more guided experience—try one of our tours. Source: GoldenIsles.com
